The Law of Consistency
Consistency simply means doing the right thing over and over again until you get the desired result. It is about showing up every day and putting in effort, even when you don’t feel like it. Big success does not usually come from one big action. It comes from small actions done again and again. When we want to start something, many of us start with excitement. We feel motivated when we want to begin a new goal: reading books, learning new skills, saving money or exercising. But after sometime the level of excitement reduces. This is where consistency comes in. It means you keep going, not because you feel excited, but because you are serious about your goal. I am a perfect example, I remember when I just started learning website design. I was so focused and enthusiastic about it, there was nothing I wanted more. Believe me, it got to a time when I found it boring to learn, the excitement level had reduced. But I had to keep going, keep showing up and I still do till now.
One thing with consistency is that it helps you build good habit. When you keep doing something regularly, it becomes part of your daily life. It becomes easier, and you don’t struggle as much to do it. Over time, these small efforts turn into big results. The law of consistency also teaches patience. Results may not come quickly, sometimes you may feel like nothing is changing. But just like planting a seed, if you keep watering it, it will grow. You may not see it immediately, but growth is happening.
The law of consistency teaches us that steady effort is more important than sudden effort. What really changes our lives is not what we do once in a while, but what we do every day.
