Say no to Bullying
“I used to think it was something I did wrong. Maybe I talked too much, or too little. Maybe I looked different, sounded different, or just didn’t fit in the way they wanted me to. Whatever the reason, I became a target.
Every day felt like walking into an unknown place I couldn’t escape. The beatings, the scornful laughter, the name calling, they followed me everywhere. Sometimes it wasn’t even words. It was the looks, the exclusion, the way people pretended I didn’t exist. Those moments hurt just as much, if not more.
I started to belittle myself. I avoided raising my hand, avoided eye contact, avoided being seen at all. The world felt safer when I was invisible, even though deep down, I just wanted to be accepted like everyone else. The worst part wasn’t the bullying itself, it was the loneliness, the feeling like no one noticed, or worse, that no one cared.” (Victim of constant bullying)
Addressing bullying requires awareness, empathy, and action. Schools, families, and communities must create safe spaces in learning environments, workplaces and online where individuals feel heard and supported. Encouraging kindness, respect, and open communication can help prevent bullying and promote a culture where everyone feels valued and protected.
