The High Rate of Poverty in the Country
Hmmm, at this point, I feel so weak at the high rate of poverty in Nigeria. It has gotten to the point where you’ll see people you don’t even know, send DMs to you on social media, begging you for financial assistance so they can be able to feed. Unknown to them that alot of people are going through one or two.
There are students who have also dropped out of school because their parents find it difficult to pay their tuition . There are children in the country who hawk on the street in traffic during school hours just so they can be able to get money to put food on their table, yet our politicians are out there embezzling funds and have no plans for the citizens of the country. With the current state of the country, there should be free education so that the less privileged can be able to attend school and gain educational knowledge without worrying on how they’ll get funds to pay their tuition. There used to be free education in the 70s and 80s but things changed when we started getting ruled by bad leaders.
There are so many reasons why the rate of poverty is very high in Nigeria. They include;
High Inflation.
Unemployment or Underemployment.
Insecurity in farming regions.
Rapid population growth.
Economic instability and currency issues.
Poverty in Nigeria is spreading wide and growing fast, especially outside major cities. Despite Nigeria being rich in natural resources, so many people still struggle with basic living conditions. It is quite sad and unfortunate that the basic things are now so difficult for some people to afford. Food ought to be the cheapest thing to get, but it is now a major and expensive thing for some people in Nigeria. We hope the government look into this, because this is really getting out of control.
